Our Commitment

At Bucks & Jakes, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you’re not happy with your item, we’re here to help with our straightforward return policy.

State Regulation Compliance

Customer Responsibility: You are solely responsible for ensuring that your purchase and possession of any products from Bucks & Jakes complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.

No Returns for Regulatory Violations: Bucks & Jakes will not accept returns, exchanges, or provide refunds for any products that:

  • Violate applicable state, local, or federal regulations in your jurisdiction
  • Were purchased in violation of your local laws
  • Cannot be legally shipped to or possessed in your location
  • Result in regulatory compliance issues

Customers assume all responsibility for understanding and complying with their local laws before making any purchase.

Firearm-Specific Return Policy

FFL Transfer Completion: Once a firearm has been transferred through a Federal Firearms License (FFL) dealer and has left the FFL premises with the customer, Bucks & Jakes will no longer accept that firearm for return, exchange, or refund under any circumstances.

Pre-Transfer Issues: If there are any issues with a firearm purchase, including but not limited to:

  • Defects or damage
  • Incorrect specifications
  • Customer dissatisfaction
  • Regulatory compliance concerns

The firearm must remain at the FFL dealer location and cannot leave the premises with the customer. All return processing must be completed while the firearm remains in the custody of the FFL dealer.

FFL Dealer Coordination: Customers must work directly with both Bucks & Jakes and their FFL dealer to process any firearm returns before the transfer is completed and before taking possession of the firearm.

Return Window

You have 30 days from the date of purchase to return most items for a full refund or exchange. The return period begins on the date you received your item(s).

Condition Requirements

To be eligible for a return, items must be:

  • In original, unused condition
  • In original packaging with all tags and labels attached
  • Accompanied by original receipt or proof of purchase
  • Free from damage not caused by defects
  • In compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

Online/Phone Returns

  1. Contact us at one of the phone numbers above to initiate your return
  2. We’ll provide you with return instructions and any necessary return authorization
  3. Confirm that your return complies with all applicable regulations
  4. Package items securely in original packaging when possible
  5. Ship to the address we provide (return shipping costs may apply)

Regulatory Verification: Before processing any return, we may require verification that the return does not violate any applicable laws or regulations.

Refund Methods

  • Original payment method: Refunds will be processed to your original form of payment
  • Cash purchases: Refunds issued as cash or store credit
  • Credit/Debit card purchases: Refunds processed to the original card (may take 3-5 business days to appear)
  • Store credit: Available as an alternative option for your convenience

Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned for health, safety, legal, or practical reasons:

  • Firearms that have completed FFL transfer and left the FFL premises
  • Any items that violate applicable state, local, or federal regulations
  • Personalized or custom-made items
  • Items marked as “Final Sale” or “Clearance”
  • Gift cards
  • Consumable products that have been opened or used
  • Items damaged by misuse or normal wear and tear

Exchanges

We’re happy to exchange items for a different size, color, or style subject to availability. Exchanges follow the same 30-day window and condition requirements as returns. Firearm exchanges must be completed at the FFL dealer before transfer completion.

Defective or Damaged Items

If you receive a defective or damaged item:

  • Contact us immediately at one of our locations
  • For firearms: DO NOT complete the FFL transfer – keep the firearm at the FFL dealer
  • We’ll arrange for immediate replacement or full refund
  • No return shipping costs for defective items
  • Extended return window may apply for defective products

Late Returns

Returns requested after the 30-day window may be considered on a case-by-case basis and may be subject to:

  • Restocking fees
  • Store credit only (no cash refunds)
  • Manager approval required
  • Must still comply with all applicable regulations

Return Shipping

  • Defective items: We cover return shipping costs
  • Change of mind returns: Customer responsible for return shipping costs
  • In-store purchases: We recommend returning to the store to avoid shipping costs
  • Regulatory compliance: Customer responsible for ensuring legal shipment

Processing Time

  • In-store returns: Processed immediately (subject to regulatory verification)
  • Mailed returns: Please allow 5-7 business days after we receive your item
  • Refund processing: 3-5 business days for credit/debit cards to reflect the credit

Special Circumstances

Holiday Returns

Items purchased during holiday periods may have extended return windows. Please check with our staff for current holiday return policies.

Sale Items

Sale items are eligible for return under the same conditions as regular-priced items unless specifically marked as “Final Sale.”
